Re: Southport 0-0 Alfreton - Match Thread
This is not a whinge - just an observation that hopefully an attempt to explain one of the factors that has caused us to go backwards. If you cast your mind back to when Keenan and Carberry appeared. Carberry was signed because of his impressive performances. He was energetic. He added flair down th...

Club will be delighted - sound result that cements the management's objective of not getting promoted.

Re: Southport 0-1 Hereford - Match Thread
The weaker team won. We were so unlucky to lose that one. The tight-knit squad hand picked single handedly by our manager who is the envy of the league purred through the phases from defence into attack. On another day we would have walked that 5:0. We out-thought them by playing high balls into the...

Re: Chorley 1-0 Southport - Match Thread
Playing as though the team have met for the first time today. No plan. 2nd to every first and 2nd ball. Being outplayed by a Chorley team who are more mobile, better on the ball, faster and more aggressive. They are playing as though it is a local Derby. We are not. Where's Hmami? We need a stronger...

Tharme and Whalley on BBC FA Cup tie vs Leeds. Sat 12.30pm
If they play, will be interesting to see how they measure up vs a premiership team on the televised game on Saturday.

Have the floodlights had to be repaired or was it a temporary electrical fault causing several LEDs to fail?

Re: Southport V AFC Fylde - Match Thread
Strong lineup and attacking bench and hope we don't miss KQ too much. Felt he may have been needed to keep Faal quiet. Hope we don't have any defensive injuries looking at the options on the bench. Strong wind could be a leveler (and soon blow away any smoke
)

Great result.
I think besides 4:0, I think the most important figure of the afternoon is >1000 home fans.

Re: Southport v Farsley
Having gone to the corresponding away fixture this season, we should not underestimate what an absolute nuisance and handful Carver made of himself to their defence. It was his relentless physicality that was instrumental in wearing down their defence - distracting and diverting them to create space...

Well done boys. 55% of our points achieved in the last 4 games. Keep it up.
Carver in. 2 out on loan. 1 unused progressive signing.
Good management.

Re: Farsley Celtic 0-0 Southport - Match Thread
A very physical 1st half from Farsley. We are being outbattled by a very physical team - with the ref not inclined to use the yellow card. She has done once - after 40 mins. There will be more yellow cards if not more in next 45 mins unless she starts to take control of the game. Farsley exploiting ...

Re: Marcus Carver
Welcome back to the Club. Some of the best in the world (Ronaldo, Rooney, Drogba) have returned to their former clubs with success. I hope the same is true - for Marcus and for SFC. He was well-liked in the squad, noticing that he came back to be with the squad after his sale, so expect he will fit ...

Re: AFC Fyld€ 1-0 Southport - Match Thread
We out fought and out thought them once we had worked them out - and out worked them. Unfortunately that came after going 1 down after 6 mins. Played better than Saturday yet came away with nothing. Liked the J Doyle / Carberry combo down our left. Hope Anson bounces back. A below par Hmami made a d...

Re: The state of play.
Selling Carver was a key turning point last season. It turned a strong possibility of a playoff place into a hope that the remaining players without him could achieve the same. They couldn't. It appears that we have found ourselves in a position of remaining in this league a self-fulfilling prophecy...

Great performance. Night and day compared to the Bootle performance. We had belief and a better chance to play football against a footballing side. We also had Liam on the touchline. Hope we can use that as a springboard into Everton.

Re: Bootle (A)
We dominated the play and threat in the 2nd half. But still hoof ball from the back, bypassing the midfield when attacking. Do our midfield have largely a defensive role? Next time there is an interview with either Liam or Terry can we ask questions about our game plan and tactics? 1. During the pre...
