Re: Scarborough Athletic 0-1 Southport - Match Thread

Beer, great company, trains running on time and 3 points. Its a class away day. Top draw to effort from everyone I saw/had a pint with/spoke to. This is what it's all about - a great day all around 🟡⚫ Amen absolutely. I was too pissed to analyse the game to be honest but 3 points there is a brillia...

Boston brought 67 didn’t they? Who taught you maths, because 560 is not closer to 400 than 600?

Still a poor turnout though.

Re: Chorley 1-2 Southport - Match Thread

Football is played over 90 minutes and not 10/15, but the first part of the second half we were superb. Connor Heath fired narrowly wide in between the two goals and we just generally played a la Brazil 1970 for 10 minutes. That said, the first half was not good enough and Tony Mc won us the game wi...

True, though we’ve legitimately scored twice there.

Re: Cam Mason loan

Some bizarre comments above. The fact he's gone down a division when he's clearly too good for it suggests he's prioritising his full time career at present and found a club and manager who will suit his lifestyle better at this moment. All the best to him. These are the decisions that part time fo...

Re: Southport 2-1 Curzon Ashton - Match Thread

Probably deserved the win. Dominant first half performance, dropped deeper (again) second half. Their penalty was probably a penalty but the way it was awarded was scandalous - if the liner thought it was handball, why hasn’t he flagged originally? Apparently the ref was the same as the Buxton match...

Re: Southport P-P Boston United

It’s annoying, but it happens. I’ve been at Gateshead when the match was postponed at 1.30pm.

There’s no malice from the club, every effort was made to get the game on. So thank you to the volunteers.

Re: Interview with Ian Kyle - BBC Merseyside

“Free drinks” for sponsors aren’t free for the club though - it’s lost revenue. I’m sure they could make it a free bar again, but they’d have to up the price of sponsorship, which seems a bit counter-intuitive if we’re struggling for sponsors as it is. Having been invited recently by a sponsor, the ...

Better set the alarm clock ⏰
I went to that Eastleigh game with some bloke called Noel - whatever happened to him?

It isn’t Liam’s number 1 priority, but having a manager who wants to win every game isn’t a bad thing.

Personally I’d use a few academy lads for this though, if they’re ready and if we can.

Re: Southport 1-3 Curzon Ashton - FA Trophy - Match Thread

All in all, a terrible day at the office and one to forget for most. The excuses of "well now we can focus on the league" really annoy me- the FAT is our only good opportunity of decent silverware all season and it brings some desperately needed income to fund any chance we'd have of perf...

Crowd of 650 sounds about right. All pay, 6th home game in a row, early round of the Trophy.

Does anyone know if we’ve agreed to conclude the tie today if it’s a draw?

A very good point. If you can’t win, don’t lose. We sat back after we scored, but if we’d gone for a second we’d probably have been taken apart. They’re not a nice side, trying to con and intimidate the referee at every opportunity. Glad they dropped points. To the person behind the goal who lashed ...

It’s not as easy this one as some have made out. As has been said, we could have been behind at their place at half-time. They’ve had a week off this week too, we haven’t.

They did beat Brackley, but Brackley played with 10 men for 75 mins.

Paulisi, your obsession with this is bordering on weird. Jordan isn’t fully fit, so can’t play 90 minutes.

Would take Lancaster away - old university haunt for me and the Dolly Blues became my second team for a while.

Them or Redditch at home
