Re: Southport 1-2 Hereford - Match Thread

Oh and come and say hello to us on this link. https://saveedgarstreetforum.proboards.com/thread/7836/southport-hereford-fc?page=3 I do read that from time to time and highly rate it as the one forum in the league more prone to absurdity, irreverence and sarcasm than this place. Keep it up. What hap...

Re: Southport 1-2 Hereford - Match Thread

The highlights only back up the ridiculousness of the decisions. The 'foul' given when their keeper runs into their defender without an SFC player anywhere near is even worse than I remembered it. Ref knows it's not a foul as he doesn't give it for a while, it's only when it looks like we've got an ...

Re: Southport 1-2 Hereford - Match Thread

Quansah may have worked hard and got up and down the line, but he is technically much poorer that the others in his control and passing and is not a natural in our new style of play Absolute rubbish, he has good control ,he didn’t make a bad pass he can cross a ball his heading is OK and he had the...

Re: Southport 1-2 Hereford - Match Thread

I've already said I disagree with the key decisions, but what we can't get away from is that we should have already been in front. Carver and Lloyd missed golden chances. That is nobody else's fault. In this league, if you go behind at home then you're in for it. Every team is drilled in the 'dark a...

Re: Southport 1-2 Hereford - Match Thread

Fed up of watching matches where the result is determined by the officials. Might as well save our time and let them decide the outcome before kick off. Nobody in white appealed that it was over the line, not even a speculative arm raised. Only one man thought it was. Apparently there is evidence sh...

Couldn't believe that's him in the photo... only 31 apparently.

Really important win, this puts us 9th in the away league standings... if only we didn't have to bother with Haig Ave.

Commentary makes it sound like we should be a couple of goals ahead, hope we don't regret it.

Re: Finlay Heath

Today's game was tailor made for him; shitheap of a pitch, tackles flying in, fifty/fifties.

Instead we had Hmami trying and failing to play a holding midfield role.

Re: Chorley 3-0 Southport - Match Thread

Our goal difference and goals against tally is shocking, Bentley doesn't seem to know the answer as we routinely concede twos and threes. We competed well enough in some areas and the first half was competitively even, but we defend like school children and have done all season. Long term injuries ...

Re: Chorley 3-0 Southport - Match Thread

Grafting and hard work are futile if you give away three woeful goals and don't defend. All that effort in the first half thrown away by three pieces of ameteur defending. First one, Johnson picks up the ball in his own half and just runs in a straight line past Thomson who may as well have not been...

Re: Southport 1-2 Spennymoor Town

There is 1 board member at the club (and you - Potts cares like a fan like anyone else, don’t ever question that, and I genuinely hope you’re not doing that). Liam and Ian have sold their shares (Ian is over £250k worse off and Liam gifted his shares back to the club - almost £100k. Neither paid a ...

Re: Southport 1-2 Spennymoor Town

In terms of individual player quality we have enough to stay up. We aren't very good but there's enough there to win a few matches. My worry is it seems the morale and spirit has completely drained away, this has coincided with Jim's revolving door approach to recruitment. There is a fine line betwe...

Re: Southport 1-2 Spennymoor Town

Defeat at home to a team who haven't won in twelve, lowest crowd for over thirty years, ownership dragged through the mud publicly.

Don't want to overreact but we should sack the board, manager, players, level the stadium, salt the earth, build houses and maybe try rugby again.

Re: Southport 1-2 Spennymoor Town

You support your team through thick and thin so they say. But if it's just constant thin what then? Last decent season was 2011/12 and even then by decent, I mean a narrow failure to get in the play-offs. That was twelve years ago. Mental to think any fans aged 16, 17 have never seen anything but f...

Re: Southport 1-2 Spennymoor Town

Attendance of 512 is the lowest league crowd since 1993 and breaks a 31 year record.

Only 480 home fans.

I used to blame people for not going but I can't criticise the Southport public for not turning out to see unrelenting shit year in year out.
