Not included in squad at all tonight. Played on at Marine on Monday when clearly injured, what was the point of that?

Re: Senior Cup Marine game

I suspect Liam is referring, harshly, to Michael Carberry amongst others. He was clearly injured last night but it looked like he was told to stay on. I do actually agree with the ‘it’s been too easy to be injured this season’ comment from Liam. But the main culprits in this category are way higher ...

It matters in the context that we were very much second best against a team a league below us, in a competition we take very seriously

Re: Senior Cup Marine game

Marine were miles better than us all over the park. Strong, direct and loads of pace

They will do well in NLN next season if they manage to get promoted

Great attendance - 1604 - with plenty of ‘port fans in evidence

Re: A volunteers view of the current situation at our club

I think a logical first step to resolve this issue would be for someone from the club, preferably Ian, to actually approach the chaps with the banner and ask them the simple question: 'Why do you want Kyle out?' Explanations about what Ian is doing for the club and the consequences of him walking aw...

I remember Alan, a decent defender who left when the club failed to find him a house

He played in our 6-0 league cup defeat to Newcastle United

Re: Southport 2-1 Blyth Spartans

Amazing how a win brings all the company men to the barricades. Most dissenting voices are met with nonsense like 'well you buy/run the club then' or ' you drum up extra finance' etc. I have no wish to run a football club or to figuratively burn my money doing so. You can dress it up how you like b...

Re: Southport 2-1 Blyth Spartans

It was good to get the win Started very slowly but gradually got into gear and then dominated most of the game Tyler Walton was outstanding in the middle, easily his best game for Southport. 2 set piece goals give the critics (me included) something to dwell on Attendance a concern but not surprisin...

Re: Q&A with Ian and Liam

If you look at where we have finished under Liam, which is 14th, 12th and 11th - he has surpassed where the budget dictates we 'should be' every time. I can whinge for Britain about certain aspects of the style, tactics, squad management, but the bottom line is he has got a relegation budget into m...

Re: Liverpool FA Senior Cup - Semi Final Draw

Not a fan of the competition these days

But to be honest a competitive fixture away at Marine, even in a Mickey Mouse cup, is probably a more attractive proposition at this stage of the season than a host of league games that we can’t afford to win

Re: Q&A with Ian and Liam

There is actually a section on the club shop where you can donate to the club directly. Or if you wanted to buy a share in the club you could, you should be able to go to the secretary and ask to be issued some new shares in the club. I think there is a minimum shareholding of maybe £100? Ian has (...

Re: Q&A with Ian and Liam

A thoroughly depressing half hour listen Deja vu back to 1979 when, after a promising first season of non league football, we opted not to join the newly-formed conference. I personally stuck with the club through the lean, mean early 80's but many didn't. I was young, naive and enthusiastic back then

To sum this up I’m sure there are rules which provoked the postponement of Tuesday nights game I’m also sure that there are work around compromises that could have been explored provided the players and officials were prepared to do so. Might be easier to just re-activate TIY, perhaps contact some of the previous officers and volunteer to get involved?
