It's Thursday, so about time for some predictions...

Kettering 2-2 Southport

Late equaliser for Kettering thanks to the good home form. Thankfully an away trip after a month without

Kettering Town 2-1 Southport

Att: 647 (62 away)

Difficult place to go as they are strong at home and the pitch is widely regarded as the worst in the league, it is like iron. One thing I can promise is this will not be a pretty game.

I worry because this will be a long ball affair (which is all that pitch allows) and we have nobody to win them. I can already see us launching 30 missiles up to Archer in which he won't win any. We also seem to have slipped into the early season threadbare mode again. We never replaced Carver after the recall, no sign of Woods and Vassallo, Oliver has a knock, Niall came off midweek. I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach we have reverted to 14 fit players, no support for Archer and getting beat.

Woods will be used when he returns to Southport, I’ve been told, but the consensus remains that there is little sense in bringing him back to sit on the bench whilst he’s doing well with Warrington Town.

Watson came off with a knock, nothing too serious I believe.

Another difficult trip away from home, a place that’s been a struggle for Southport in the past.

Their home form, despite league position, shouldn’t be ignored either.

I think this is in the ‘take a draw’ territory should the case arise but I suspect it will be a tight affair - one which Port will edge

Whilst they have won a few difficult games at home this season, they are still only 2 points off the relegation places and only have the 12th best home record in the league. They aren't in particularly great form either, picking up 3 wins and a draw in their last 9 league games. The pitch will be difficult, as it always is at Kettering, but if we play like we've shown we're able to and have Heath on from the start to win balls for Archer I think we'll cause them more problems than they'll cause us.
