Not forgetting that Ian Kyle’s brother Richie is assistant manager there as well.

Shaun Whalley played against us that day.
I think they walloped us at their place later in the season.
I remember being one of about 15 Southport supporters at Kenilworth Road when we lost comfortably on a Tuesday night (I think), could have been that season. I remember Whalley came over to the away end at the end of the game.

I quite like the fact the Mpanzu has played NL, L2, L1, Championship with Luton. Hope he gets some PL time to complete the set!

Lee Trundle scored 4 goals in this tournament in a game vs ex-USA women internationals.

I didn't rate Carberry, he got done defensively and coming forward he did push on but his delivery was poor. NWCFL to NLN was too much a jump for him I thought. Does work hard and no lack of effort so hope he does well.

Nolan looks like a real capture. A few years since I saw him, but he was one of our better players in the National League. He prefers ball to feet rather than scrapping for second balls, so you do have to play some football on the deck to get the best out of him.

With the new 3G pitch, you have to play it to feet.

When Jack Dunn comes back from injury, and with Sol Solomon and Fin Sinclair-Smith up front, we’ve hopefully got the midfielders and forwards to unlock defences.

Good signing for you, as is Carberry.
Would your ground get a Conf N grading if you went up?
You'd imagine so, but no idea really.

Liam Nolan and Jordan Lussey back together? That's two thirds of the best footballing midfield I've seen us have. Not sure you've got the budget to sign Declan Weeks though!

Hopefully our ground will be up to NLN standards.

Our Chief Executive update at the end of the season said:-

We have been in constant dialogue with the Council over improvements to the stadium for 12 months now with many challenges which is why it has taken so long. I hope that over the next 4-6 months we can make a further announcement.

You have the disadvantage of being hemmed in on one side don't you? The side with the housing you can do nothing with presumably.

The home end is already developed into a seated stand, so really you are looking at the terracing on the main road and behind the other goal.

The terracing on the right side of the College Road end as you walk in, and at the far end, have about 5 steps of terracing, and then a flat base. I’m assuming that terracing can be built on these flat bases.

Someone told me that side used to have very narrow standing accommodation a long time ago. Pitch dimensions might not allow it now though.
We are the nutters, we come from the sea.
We must be nutters to watch SFC.
