Contenders For Summer Signings

Post by Sundance »

With all the talk of released players who would you like us to sign this summer? For me fitting into the ‘orrible defender definitely Harry Flowers from Telford. I know they went down this season but there are some rich pickings there, I always rated Jamie Allen, reminds me of Dion Charles, but not been prolific this year. Then there is Liam Nolan, perhaps too cultured for the narky midfielder we need. Remember Jason. Oswell who was well thought of at Stockport a few years ago. Anyone else with any suggestions?

Harry Flowers has 2 years left on his contract
Liam Nolan has 1 year left on his.

I think we need a Godfrey Poku/Dom Morley type who wins everything in centre midfield, two fast wingers who can beat a man, and two big strikers who can play upfront with Jordan Archer.

I'm thinking whether or not Bobby grant from Radcliffe may be on Liam's shopping list after all he said he would be looking to bring in a couple of older heads coming in and he would be great as an assistant manager /coach./player.

The new assistant
Frank Lampard
available in the summer
Links to Merseyside
On a 7 game losing streak - fits perfectly with Liam....

I imagine there will be a pretty big clearout at Telford - I'd take those two and maybe Allen. Nolan would have made us a better team this year if he's anything like the player we had before.
I am at my most DANGEROUS and EFFECTIVE when UNDERESTIMATED.

I think there'll be decent pickings at Telford if any members of their squad leave at the end of the season, especially Oswell. That being said, if our budget is as big as it sounds like it could be we'll be looking to experienced successes from this level (Fylde and Chester are sure to let go of a few, why not scour their releasees?) There will be plenty of top players available at the end of the season, hopefully some real bastards in there if we're going to have to stick with this style of play.

Why would anyone with experience or ambition at this level or Npl want to come and be a no 2 to liam watson , for one they have to share his watsonball ideology maybe his guru John Beck can come out of retirement.

TBF, Blayney is a UEFA A qualified coach and was the manager of Burscough last season. He is currently the Head of Football at the Steven Gerrard Academy. May not be Cruyff but also not a dinosaur.

Cole Stockton has been released by Morecambe, he could be worth a look?

Morecambe offered him a new contract paying him £2,000 a week but he thinks he's worth more and rejected it.

29 years old and had a £1m price tag on him last year. Hardly "no spring chicken".
