Can we organise a coach trip to the sentencing? This has genuinely saved the season for me.

This is news that warms the heart. Hopefully the beginning of Fleetwood's implosion.

Apparently he owns Waterford as well and has been remanded in custody

Well according to this article

Amusing but the article is thin on detail.

Did anyone else read "complex fraud case" as "case too complicated for the local journo to understand?"

They are no Siddle.

Will all come out in the wash, mind.

I wouldnt wish this on any club except Wigan maybe. Mr Pilley like Owen Oyston can appoint proxys.
I hope it works out for the club ive always found Fleetwood welcoming from 1970 in the NPL others may have other opinions.

Others very much do have other opinions. A community which was, unfortunately, rife with incest.

Currently, neither the FA's nor the EFL's Owners and Directors Test can be applied retrospectively. This may change if we get an independent regulator and club licensing is introduced.

But a conviction for fraud means he is likely to face disqualification proceedings where he will almost certainly be barred from being a company director.

This would, in theory, prevent him from legally controlling any company he owns - including Fleetwood Town. There's precedent in Scotland for a banned director owning a club (or being the UBO via shell companies) but I'm not immediately aware of such in England. Be interesting to see what happens.

That club and its successor both died.

It was an unwelcoming place to go in the 1990s. The only place I've ever seen hooliganism at a Lancs Trophy match.

If their rise has been funded by a fraudulently obtained fortune i hope it all goes pear shaped and they have to start all over again yet again.

I was conned by one of his businesses when I first set mine up.

Hopefully the employees knowingly doing his dirty work will be next.

Another Blackpool Gazette quote:
Town owner: No bad blood with our cup rivals
Fleetwood owner Andy Pilley says the bad blood that once epitomised their relationship with Southport has gone '“ and that the two clubs are even planning on working together in the future."
In the words of Tomkins, "The ethos of Clapham became the spirit of the age."

There was a stage when the clubs did try. Liam then got back and everything stopped. Yet another smart decision.

The article is a bit unclear in regards to what exactly he's accused of, but I think he should be given at least 6 concurrent life sentences. Just to be on the safe side.

I don't know what it is about the Fylde peninsula but Fleetwood and AFC Fylde can both implode as far as I'm concerned. I'm not too keen on Blackpool either.
