This is excellent news from the Directors & a big pat on the back to them for freezing the season ticket prices, especially when a lot of clubs in our league are increasing prices massively for season tickets, especially Hereford & Blyth, almost £350, crazy!
Flexi ticket is a great idea too and I know a few who will definitely go for it
Let's get some high calibre players in now & increase ticket sales.
Agree. Great news. I think the flexibility tickets will be popular. I'm certainly up for a 10 matcher, and if fixtures fall right an additional 5 matcher could be good too. Great initiatives.
Shame a few morons spoilt it for the under 17s, but let's blame them not the club...
Me,I am stuck in the 1980s, you know, when the world didn't have Internet, mobile phones, all the shit that now makes the 21st century soooo great, can't pay at the turnstile so will do some 21st century bollocks to watch football in the 6th tier, have a good weekend
Slough Town who finished 18th in NLS have a great scheme where one of the membership schemes includes 10 free tickets to give away to friends and family. The membership costing £295 includes the following:-
-Ticket priority for cup matches
-Invitation to open training session
-Free entry to home pre-season matches
-Free entry to home ladies, U18 and Academy matches
-10% discount in club shop at Arbour Park
-Exclusive bar offers
-Invitation to dinner with the playing squad
-10 match tickets to distribute to friends and family
-Invitation to an evening with the manager
-Boardroom access for one match
-Access to the club’s media day
They also offer standing and seating memberships at £195 and £245 respectively.
Glad to see season ticket prices being frozen and the flexible options. Then opportunity to charge more for 23/24 was lost as a result of performances on the pitch in 22/23.
How many people go through the cash turnstile? 100,200,whatever it is,you have just lost half of them,
Cash, for a club like Southport has advantages, not bothered about paying more, where talking, on a good day,1000 people, let's double that before some suited dick starts talking about flexie tickets, give me strength

In fairness, "suited dick(s)" run every single club worth note in the world.
I do agree cash turnstiles should still be an option though, especially since many of Southport's population are on the older side and would therefore be more likely to purchase a ticket with cash.
Worth saying that if you can't be arsed fiddling with your phone at the turnstile which can be bitty trying to enlarge the QR code to the right size to be scanned (if you are not familliar) then you can print out any tickets purchased online and have a paper ticket to use at the turnstile if you don't want to dick around with phones.
Maybe the article could be clearer and state printed paper tickets are an option for anyone uncomfortable.

So if you don't want to fiddle with your phone buy a computer and a printer and dick around with those instead.
Just seems ridiculous that a 6th tier club that struggles to attract supporters chooses to make it difficult for the casual attendee to turn up on the day.
We are the nutters, we come from the sea.
We must be nutters to watch SFC.
I'm all for SFC being as "professional" as possible as it can be,maximising and analysing where we can gain an advantage over opposition.
When it comes to the matter of how to pay to watch 6th tier football-we seem to struggle though....Great for me who will buy their season ticket as per-but most won't be doing, and for that majority we should be looking at any easy payment option-including cash on the day-to rule that out is just daft. It's not the Premier league for goodness sake..!
I know lads who will decide on the day if they are going to the match-"what's the weather forecast? " "who is likely to be playing-personell wise or not?" "Who are the opposition that day?"
To rule that you have to buy a ticket at least 24 hours before a game will just cut the gate down-end of.
I genuinely can't remember when I last used cash for anything. Been up in Southport this weekend and the merry go round by the pier - card only for a £2 ride. Hesketh Park mini-golf is the same too.
Whether good or bad, cash is dying off. For me, I don't care, but I know for many, generally older people, it's a huge negative.
The ticketing policy could actually be an even more clever way of sorting out the bumfluff aggro problem than most people realise. The 5 and 10 game package could attract a lot of fans with very little engagement with technology on their behalf (a one-off payment, even do it in the club shop), particularly as there is no cash turnstile - it becomes the most obvious best value way of attending. If the cashless system takes off and there is no further aggro, then open it up to the youth. The kids who come back would then have to provide their details, and if there are problems again we have a database of likely suspects with full contact details. It just needs some buy-in from fans who can see the bigger picture of it without kicking up a fuss from those who can't or won't pay cash on the day.
I think a £1 increase across all on-the-day adult tickets, with no benefit to purchasing on the website, would've been the best idea. It adds value to a season ticket because they froze the price of one as well as not deterring people from just turning up at 5 to 3 with a £20 note in their pocket.

Agree 100% with this. We should be welcoming people into the ground with open arms, not turning people away because they turn up with cash.
