Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
This is a huge game for us and a huge test of our ambitions for a playoff spot against playoff rivals.
We have injuries, illness and Carberry is suspended, but Connor Woods is available after being recalled.
Not sure how the lunchtime kick off will impact the crowd with England likely to be playing later. Expected away support to drop a little due to early start and England straight after. Lourdes Deli may well be busier than normal...
Still i'm expecting over 1000 and if everyone is fit that is available, I fancy us to turn them over.

Re: Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
With England playing Sunday evening and Wales eliminated, could the game be moved back to a 3pm kick off?
Re: Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
I hope not. Looking forward to an afternoon doing things with the family and I'm getting a bit frustrated by the amount of fixture changes we've had lately.

Seems daft we move a game to accommodate USA v Holland

I'm sure you know that it was moved to accommodate a possible England or Wales game had either finished 2nd in the group. Or did you expect them to wait until 9pm tonight before trying to reschedule it?
The change may well still attract a few floaters who'd otherwise be watching the USA v Holland game at 3pm.

Keep it the same time, surely some form of deal to get people into the bar after the game should be in order? Keep people at the ground buying food and drink.
Re: Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
I would imagine that Scarborough have made plans to stay over on Friday night and that asking to revert the game back to 3pm wouldn't be well received by either the league or our opponents at this point.
I think moving the game was the correct decision given the available information. Potentially playing at the same time as England in the WC was not a risk we had the luxury of taking.

In all my years of watching Southport I don’t think I’ve ever attended a 12:30 kick off. Has there ever been one?

Might slow down the smart meter a bit if the weather brightens up for the weekend.

Feel like we drew 1-1?
There will almost certainly be a 12:30 somewhere but I can't immediately find it.

Re: Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
I'm quite looking forward to a 12:30 kickoff to be honest. It's something a bit different and it means I've got an afternoon free which will feel strange but nonetheless welcome on a Saturday. The only problem I can forsee is that not many Scarborough fans will attend, but I think there'll probably be over 1000 anyway and despite their good away support I don't think they'd bring over 100 for a 3pm kickoff either.

Eastleigh away when BT Sport had the early KO I'm fairly sure was a 12.30

The cup tie v Sheffield Wednesday was a 12 noon KO.

Grimsby away in 2011/12 was early. Last day of the season so they all got shifted to earlier. Won 1-0 thanks to a Darren Stephenson strike.

This is a correct shout. I'm a bit pissed off actually that I've spent thirty minutes googling historic programmes and zooming into the kick off times, the sole result of which was discovering we weirdly kicked off Torquay away on a Wednesday in 1959 at 5.45pm and you've wandered in with a correct answer without a care in the world. Re: Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
Thanks for all your efforts. Much appreciated. I certainly didn’t go to the Eastleigh away game so have probably never been to a 12:30 kick off before.

Re: Southport v Scarborough -12.30 kick off
Not even been to a prem one? Absolutely hate when BT Sport put us on a 12:30 kick-off. Its too early so the atmosphere is usually dead and if you lose it ruins your whole weekend and you don't want to watch any more football for the rest of the weekend
