Kidderminster Harriers v Southport

15th October 2022 @ 3pm – Aggborough

We’ve met  before

First match was a 1-1 draw in the FA Trophy in 1986.

Last time out – a 6-0 defeat in April in front of 1955.

Familiar Faces to both clubs

We’ve had quite a few played for both clubs over the years.

  • Jimmy Wyllie back in 1950 and Dickie Marshall in 1965 are the earliest we know of
  • A little later we have Jim Cumbes, Ian Arnold, Mike Marsh & Sean Clancy

There are a couple of former Sandgrounders in the current Kidderminster squad too.

  • Caleb Richards
  • Nathan Lowe.

Recent Form:

Kidderminster drew with Fylde at weekend in the FA Cup and therefore have a replay to content with mid-week.

In the League over the past 3 games they have Won 3-0 at Kettering, Drew 1-1 at Buxton, and Lost to Farsley at home 2-0. They’re currently sitting in 7th place in the table. 2pts ahead of Southport.

Unfortunately no away travel by coach. If anyone is driving please put a message on the Port Chat forum if you can give a lift to someone. Spreads the ever rising cost of fuel.

Train Travel

Aggborough Stadium is a 10 min walk from Kidderminster train station. To get to Kidderminster on the train. You can either go:

Southport -> Wigan Wallgate -> Wigan North Western -> Wolverhampton -> Smethwick Galton Bridge -> Kidderminster

Or more directly via Liverpool:

Southport -> Liverpool South Parkway -> Smethwick Galton Bridge -> Kidderminster

An off peak return on the train is £62.50 on thetrainline.com for 22/10/2022 as of 17/10/2022 at 21:30. Would advise booking in advance and using split ticketing sites to lower the train fare.
