Re: Southport 2-0 Hereford - Match Thread

On a horrible day to play football the whole team worked their socks off. What I love about our play now is that we never give an inch or back off from a confrontation. Every single player plays for each other and we can play good football. Today was not a day to play good football but we won. Excel...

Take a look at the SFC v Cardiff cup game in 1966. Some great players from the past.

Re: Southport 2-0 Alfreton - Match Thread

Not that long ago last nights match would probably have ended in defeat or a draw at best. However we improved immeasurably in recent weeks and teams like Alfreton can no longer bully or out muscle us. In addition our talented players can unpick big rough defensive units and our two goals were class...

Re: Leamington 1-1 Southport - Match Thread

Keep the run going. Good result. I would a draw prior to the match. Hopefully no injuries……we cannot afford to lose players. Question- is Bainbridge available now for the match on Tuesday.

Re: Remeberance Day.

Agreed. I don’t think it detracted from the solemnity of the occasion but perhaps a prior announcement to the reading would help.

Remeberance Day.

Well done to all concerned at The Port for the minutes silence and playing of the Last Post. We will remember them. Superb response from the supporters home and away. Very moving. Our Club will never forget.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Re: Pure Legal reportedly go into Administration

The situation with Pure Legal means that many employees will now be out of a job and that is sad. This brings me round to stating the obvious……Football clubs across the board must live within their means. Unfortunately to many clubs live beyond their means and if the magic money tree fails to delive...

Re: Southport 3-0 Darlington - Match Thread

Well the match was certainly entertaining. 3 goals for and a clean sheet against and a missed penalty. I couldn’t really see what the scuffle in extra time was all about but it is certainly a big a loss for us with Bainbridge out for 3 games. I expected Darlo to come out and push forward in the seco...

Re: Brackley Town

We have not a clean sheet this season and I cannot see that changing tomorrow. We can score goals but until we manage to keep clean sheets or at least stop leaking goals then I really cannot see much to cheer about against Brackley. I hope I’m wrong and would willingly accept being wrong. 3-1. Sorry.

Russ Benjamin

Terrible news about the injury to Russ. A huge loss to the team and with a squad short in number it will be important not to suffer any more injuries etc. Take care Russ and get back to match fitness.

Re: Southport 2 - 2 Gloucester - Match Thread

This match was the proverbial game of two half’s. First half undeniably to them. Second half we were much stronger and fitter. Connor Woods got involved in the game and was a constant threat. His equalIser should have lead us going on to win. Carver had a great chance close in to the goal but could ...
