Re: Match Thread - Spennymoor V Southport
Great to get the win in a game which was entertaining for periods and then scrappy at other times. Well done to the team and management for getting the win. What was pleasing to see was that we kept going even when behind twice in the game and kept our heads up. Both our goals from set pieces again ...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
I would like to make one very clear point here. I believe what Liam Watson has done for Southport FC is absolutely fantastic, achieved at many times under hugely difficult circumstances. His devotion and love for the club cannot be questioned and I for one would like to thank him for all of his effo...

Re: Match Thread - Marine V Southport
Well done on the win and hopefully confidence will be boosted which is very important.
As Redrobe fan points out the better judgement will come on Saturday. It will be interesting to see what backline Liam goes with and if Winnard gets another 90 minutes.

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
We're at the 6th level of football. The club isn't in a particularly good place on the pitch at present due to numerous reasons going back to 2016/2017 and before. Somehow we have to try and rebuild the team in a really tough men's division...I don't have an answer, but we still have people at the c...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
Yesterday only highlighted once again all the same problems which have been evident in the most of the performances on the pitch this season. We are not functioning as a smart team, not linking play, not creating openings, not closing other teams down, not varying the play to confuse the opposition....

Re: Southport 1 - 1 Alfreton
Some positive comments above, but I have seen nothing in the last few games that gives me much, if any, reason to be optimistic. Its early days, but I am fearful of the outcome. Agreed. Without Archer's predatory strike (and remember he was the only one who stretched the keeper a few minutes before...

We just look short of ideas on how to create chances.

Re: Southport 0 - 1 Farsley
Well said YellowFever - I also agree with YTT's post apart from the ambition of a higher level. There is no doubt that the game moves on in the various levels of the National League and we do need to adapt. What has struck me during the last few games at home is the ability of the opposition to pass...

Re: Gateshead V Southport - Match Thread
Some interesting posts on here - much with what I agree with. There is no doubt we have a hard working, apparently close net team who do their best each week. Sometimes a player has an off game - but hey don't we all some days. On the pitch we have 3 basic problems in my eyes. Firstly, we don't clos...

If you worked on points per game, by my calculations, we would drop from 3rd to 7th.

Re: Southport 2-3 York City - Match Thread
As one of many York fans let down by the stream yesterday, I contacted your Club Secretary in good faith earlier with a considered view from my professional experience as a Test Professional and Manager of over 30 years. Let me say straight away that my own club would get exactly the same response ...

Re: Southport 2-3 York City - Match Thread
I wonder what potential income we get from the streaming. James said about 500 normal for smaller teams - so say £5k per game. For York and other bigger teams probably in excess of 1000 so say £10k per team. The video quality is great it is quite obvious some more bandwidth has to be allocated to c...

Re: Southport 2-3 York City - Match Thread
Having taken the night and my breakfast to compose myself I find that of course everything has now been said. There are some very good posts on here, not the least from Port on the Kent and YTT. Just to sum up, York were very professional, faster, fitter and cleverer than us. We played fairly well ...

Re: FT: Telford 1 - 1 Southport - Match Thread
I was not able to see the livestream yesterday, so no comment on the match itself, but good to us get the away point. The league table looks very odd at the moment - some teams have played 6 games whilst others only 3 (I assume due to Covid issues). Early days, but some serious fixture congestions c...

It does make you wonder what it will be like later in the season with more poor weather and more matches played on it
