Re: Halifax FA Trophy
I'm sure this game will be off. What a profoundly depressing interview with Liam. Just admits we haven't a hope of getting promoted, that the emphasis is simply on blooding young (actually not so young - 22 year olds are not young footballers) players and selling them on. This is apparently realism...

Re: Carry on football!
Corruption This is all getting a bit heavy. I preferred the nonsense myself. Back on topic... can anyone else see a slight resemblance between Arsene Wenger and Kenneth Williams? Carry On Up The Arsenal would be a surefire hit, and a bit of healthy competition for that Spurs documentary - Bernard B...

It's called free speech ASP... I don't agree with everything that you say on here and no doubt you likewise with me. That"s fine. The difference is though-that I don't come on asking for your thread/comment to be deleted (as happened above) just because I don't like what your saying. On the co...

Re: The Table
Just been reading Sean McPartlin’s new book on the sixties. He makes it very clear just how poor our gates were even when we were going well in the old Third Division. It is difficult to understand quite why, but the town has always been lukewarm about the club. So in the circumstances I still thin...

Re: Curzon Away - 2nd Jan
5 mins later, the club confirms my thoughts.... Looking for an excuse to cancel the Fylde game - small squad, injuries, 2 days between matches When the match v Chester Away is postponed the 3 matches to rearrange are all away, it is not looking good, we need a couple of wins pretty quick, but you c...

Re: Match Thread - Southport V Curzon Ashton
Speculating as to what is happening at Haig Ave is always difficult, it sounds like Phil Hodgkinson has left a Legacy for the club till 2022 also for the 3 present Directors to hold the fort in the meantime, what do they bring in to the club? The strategy seems to be that we unearth a gem or 2 &...

Re: Match Thread - Southport V Curzon Ashton
On reflection it is a game we should have been able to hold onto, the more worrying aspect is, the last time we saw us the home team, impose ourselves from the off, you would expect the fancied teams York Boston Brackley etc. to be a tough prospect, but really sitting back to teams at a lower level ...

Re: Match Thread - Southport V Curzon Ashton
I was. Which bit of what I said do you not agree with? As I said we were playing yet another Bang Average struggling team, our home form is abysmal. Look at the last few results in the league & were we are heading, 2 more difficult away games await if they do not go our way what is our league p...

Re: Match Thread - Southport V Curzon Ashton
What a disappointment. For 92 mins that's the first time this season I would genuinely say we played well and deserved to win. Second half we were on the back foot but apart from set pieces we looked comfortable. Both Curzon goals started with free kicks which were not even fouls - so frustrating O...

Re: Match Thread - Spennymoor V Southport
Hopefully this performance & result will kick the club on for a while, impressive from most of the team with Antwi stand out when he was taken off, I like the way Spennymoor play, they have some Conference quality players, a good week for the club first & foremost, long may it continue......

Maybe Woods for Watson at least to start.
Oliver could start, not sure who he would replace.
I doubt that McMillan will play.

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
We're in a poor run of form but let's give the manager the chance to sort it out. In this weird season, and all the uncertainly, I think there's a lot to be said for stability and togetherness. They are two things we have not had in any capacity when Liam Watson has not been in charge. Alan Wright?...
