Re: Southport v Bradford P.A.

With just 3 games scheduled for midweek, this is a real chance to break away from the pack and get away from the fight for the final playoff places. A win would provide a nice gap. A draw or defeat will not really help. Must win game especially with a long trip on Sat on a plastic pitch against an ...

Re: Southport 0-3 Solihull Moors - FAT - Match Thread

Solihull were streets ahead of us all over the park. There were a few key decisions that went against us (the unpunished shove on Watson that resulted in his injury, the goal disallowed for absolutely no good reason, and the handball penalty claim), but I don't think any of these would have changed...

Re: Marcus Carver

On the 9 Jan 1965,southport played Don Revies Leeds United ar Elland Road,in front 31,000, Yep without selling are best players we wouldn't be where we are today, great in it,Nuff said,up the port I'm not sure the attendance at an away game 57 years ago as a result of a random cup draw would persua...

Its normal if you care about something to look out for anything that might adversely affect it.

It’s unfortunate that some Portchatters see something negative in that.

Re: Marcus Carver

Yes I too wish him the best but here we go again a decent team in the offing & bingo the unravelling starts, we will never return to higher reaches by getting rid of your best players, or at least get a decent sum for him to help rebuild, I am sceptical about teams like Hartlepool Accrington the...

Re: Future football league players?

I would go for Adam Anson as a player with ability to play a higher level. Good in the air, reads the game well. Strong in the tackle and has a turn of speed when required. He is also comfortable playing the ball to feet. A modern all round centre back . I want us to keep our current squad for the ...

Re: Southport v Curzon - Sun 2nd Jan - 3pm (Match Off)

What do you call a shed load of money? Perhaps that is an undisclosed sum also.....really the pitch does look threadbare a far cry from the condition last July/Aug, if Everton are calling the shots here should they not compensate the club for the loss of profits on a Bank Holiday fixture...such a s...

Re: Southport v Curzon - Sun 2nd Jan - 3pm (Match Off)

and as for Everton using it,unless we get a shed load of money, what's the point? The point is we get a shed load of money off them and we’d lose much more revenue losing Everton as tenants than we lost calling the game off today. What do you call a shed load of money? Perhaps that is an undisclose...

Re: Dion Charles

So Dion goes to Bolton Wanderers for 'an undisclosed six-figure fee'. I don't suppose anyone will ever tell us what the figure really was or what our percentage is although we would all love to know. I'm going to assume it was £200k and we get 20%, so that is a nice £40k which we didn't have before...

Re: Southport 4-0 Farsley Celtic - Match Thread

Another convincing victory, very happy our lads came through the 2nd half unscathed as it looked like Farsley had lost the plot with the cynical fouling & I feared for our players safety, not surprised some obscenities were audible from both sets of supporters as the game was over as a contest a...

Hardly created a decent chance.
That's a pity as I thought their beautiful pitch would have assisted our quicker forward players, never mind a point away is always a good one.

Re: Curzon - Boxing day

I would think this is a winnable game considering the form coming into this matchup, if the pitch is in its usual pristine condition our quick forwards should hold the upper hand plus Cam wont want to concede v his old teammates....I think a solid 2 - 0 result, Archer & Carver to score...Merry C...
