It was at the end of Coleman's stint, IIRC.

Re: National League Finding

I guess it’s all about fixed and variable costs, rather than potential income. - or should be. I've just seen Chester's manager on the BBC news. They are bleating about not getting enough. The distribution algorithm is difficult to envisage. Should those who normally have more money than the others ...

He was impressive when with us. I wish we could have signed him

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

He had an eye injury that required surgery - we haven't been told any more.

He played for a few minutes against Bamber Bridge in the pre-season. If he'd had his surgery this would have been unusually soon.

Thats all I know.

Much better interview this time. Explained team choice, injuries etc. Referred to good and weak incidents on the field. Showed that he cares👍

Re: Southport 1-0 Chorley - Match Thread

It was a relief when the whistle went. Fortunately the Chorley front line didn’t take advantage of a couple of chances. Anson and Sampson also should have scored. I was surprised see so many changes. It would be interesting to know LWs rationale. They kept battling but looked knackered at the end. W...

Re: Southport v Chorley

I’d like to see us play 4-3-3 today as I think Chorley are vulnerable wide defensively. Hanford Challoner Oliver Bainbridge Doyle Morgan Benjamin Vasallo Woods Carver Watson Subs Ali Sampson Anson T Mac Newell Port 2-0 - f I like the look of that starting eleven. Trouble is, he never plays a team t...

Re: Southport 1-1 South Shields - Match Thread

You will find very little criticism of players on here. I offer no apologies for my whinge about LWs interview and in the past my concerns and questions when PH took over (some of which were deleted). The whole point of Portchat is to provide a forum for observation, reflection, praise and criticism...

Re: Southport 1-1 South Shields - Match Thread

I just listened to Liam's interview. I thought that it was a bit lightweight and to me it seemed a bit complacent, bearing in mind that we lost at home to a team from a lower league and terminated an important income stream. I don't really want to hear repeated congratulations to the opposition and ...

Yes YTT, I understand why he had to go, but nevertheless it was a very unfortunate business.

I agree about Sampson and Watson. In addition I think that we need to play 3 in midfield. Maybe move Oliver forward?

Re: Southport 1-1 South Shields - Match Thread

I’m sorry that my innocent technical question sparked a debate. My PC is pretty good and the broadband is supposed to be fast - or so Virgin Media tells me. Despite the problem with picture quality on my PC, I would not want the club to spend money on camera equipment etc. It’s OK for the current si...

Re: Go to the cinema!

Thank you very much for your considered response.

What I was suggesting was a short but strict and comprehensive lockdown to stop the current exponential growth. It would save lives. Hopefully this would be supplemented with contact tracing and follow up.

Re: Go to the cinema!

As others have said, even a lockdown tighter than a pair of cycling shorts only delays the problem. When restrictions are lifted the virus spreads again. Ultimately, to reduce thousands of articles, hundreds of thousands of posts and millions of conversations down to one succint point; Covid is not...
