Re: AFC Fylde - The gift that keeps on giving.
They're grasping at straws, they have lost the argument via finishing the wrong side of the vote. Nobody can make clubs that have closed down for the season start again, so it no worry to Southport. To me those that want to carry on (at a guess about 8) should be allowed to carry on if they want to ...

Re: Season declared null and void
Although the right decision out of those offered by the league has eventually been made. IMO it still isn't the equitable decision, especially as this morning a number of clubs will be sat down considering what action they can take to keep the season going. Remember this hasn't been passed by an ove...

Re: What can supporters do to help?
There is a problem here Neil in regards to Members of Parliament insomuch that Southport`s MP is a member of the ruling party and they seem to be divided on if and when the lockdown should be eased or not. I think we are all fully behind what Ian and Liam have said and it seems many other club offi...

What can supporters do to help?
It would appear this morning that the club has made the jump. We have announced we are not playing anymore league games for now and as a result will be isolated by the National League and no doubt have the whole future of the club threatened by the blazers for having the audacity to stand up to them...

Re: All matches off
We've all said for years about people involved who run these leagues not being in touch with what's happening at grass roots-well for me here is your proof...There's no empathy or indeed sympathy with clubs-just a hard fast "these are the rules" take it or leave it attitude which stinks. ...

Re: National League up the anti
I’m surprised we only hear of the specific threat to our club from a York news site. While I can see that the club might be unwise to comment, why is this not at least reported? Worrying. Much as I see your point. . IMO the club are doing the right thing. The League are picking clubs off one by one...

Re: All matches off
I think that as has already been said, perhaps in other words; there is strength in a collective and with other teams making a stand and already being targeted for potential "sanction" by the increasingly tin pot board at the head of our league, we need to break cover and publicly stand w...

Re: All matches off
Seeing as Kettering have issued a statement saying that they won't play until they either get a grant or fans back and Curzon Ashton were refusing to play last night, that should take Saturday and Tuesday's fixtures out of Southport's hands. I think it’s important that we announce that we also won’...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
Not really news more memories Wonderful goal by Port legend Tony Field on "The Big Match Revisited" this morning for Sheffield United. He seemed to beat half the Ipswich team before scoring. It made the last ten for the programmes goals of the season. He popped up later on in the same prog...

Re: Golden Days
Well worth a read. . . Anyone of a certain age will find it particularly interesting.
It is a pity it has been published in these Covid times, because I think it would have sold really well if sold at the ground to matchday supporters.

It would appear that York City know that the season will continue. Have a look at the phraseology used

Nathan Lowe also now out on loan at Darlington , South Shields lowering their wage bill, others out on loan too
I couldn't see Liam going for Lowe or Gilchrist though

Re: Carry on football!
This could be solved if the league would be flexible and think logically. the split is about 50/50 so it is highly unlikely that you will resolve this situation amicably with the current proposals. Points first. . Around half the clubs want to continue and around half the clubs want the season to en...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
We're in a poor run of form but let's give the manager the chance to sort it out. In this weird season, and all the uncertainly, I think there's a lot to be said for stability and togetherness. They are two things we have not had in any capacity when Liam Watson has not been in charge. Alan Wright?...
