Re: Carry on football!
Looking increasingly likely that the steps below us are going to null and void their seasons. So no relegation from our league. 11 clubs in National League divisions have confirmed positive Covid cases ahead of this weekend and their games postponed. First round of EFL testing 112 positive tests. I...

Re: Darlington off
I suppose that the two sufferers will be out for a while. What makes you say that? Not everyone who has Covid is on a ventilator hanging on for life like the government would have you believe. Even if they are asymptomatic it is 2 weeks of not training so probably another 2 weeks or so to get back ...

Anything but:
The yellow and green "away" kit circa 2001/02(?)
Any time we wear yellow shirts with white shorts and socks (ie Durham away 2009)

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!
We're delighted to announced a number of new members of the Former Players Association Dave Thompson - 106 appearances (including a Wembley appearance), 8 goals. Neil Grayston - 154 appearances, 4 goals Dave Thompson and his efforts in vain against York in the 1997 FA Cup tie are the reason I ended...

Light rain. Can't be any worse than they away end at Doncaster Rovers 20 years ago with no coat. Yep I remember getting soaked too but we won didn’t we 1-0? We always did well v Doncaster until the last season they were in non league The occasion I got drenched was the FA Cup tie when Lee Elam salv...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
Stagnation? Nothing to do with a former Chairman then? I'm not entirely sure how you blame Liam for what happened prior to him being here again as manager, but then I suspect that Kempster911 blames Liam for the origin of Covid-19 too.... You just don't get it I know, it is almost like my first com...

While we do get rightly frustrated to watch some teams go past us, there are plenty of old rivals who have dwindled away to (next to) nothing.Ralphy Rylance wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 10:28 pm We were so good it's surprising the margin was only 6 points from a very good Winsford United team who never achieved such dizzy heights again.

Cracking player, it is a real indicator of how it has been in the past decade, that I doubt in 10-15 years time we will be looking back fondly on players from 2010's in the way we look back at the 90's and 00's....

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
If someone could one day explain the henious crimes Liam Watson inflicted on a section of our fan base I'd love to know. The only consistent good times in the last 20 years have been with him in charge; yet people seem desperate for him to fail at any given opportunity. Frankly it beggars belief. T...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport
I don't buy into this inexperienced squad suggestion. Yes, we have some inexperienced players, but the following have plenty of experience: Hanford: 29 years old, over 300 competitive matches Winnard: 31 years old, over 350 competitive matches Challoner: 27 years old, over 250 competitive matches, ...

Re: Guiseley 4 - 1 Southport
The desire of this side to make SSE look overly optimistic in his early season outlook is impressive. Two things stand out. We conceed soft goals, and goals in clumps. We also waste too many chances. We could and should have buried this game in the first half. These two things are pretty disasterous...

Re: Matchday Thread: Guiseley v Southport
Not for the first time this season, I think we will rue some of our wasted chances. We've had a couple where we haven't forced a save, whereas Hanford has made a couple of very good ones.
