Re: Squad assessment

I feel like the squad lacks a goalscorer massively. Carver and Archer have had their moments but not really proved to be consistent enough. We've replaced the likes of Jason Gilchrist, Devarn Green, Dion Charles with George Newell, Niall Watson, and Connor Woods. Good players yes, but not proven eno...

AFC Fylde - The gift that keeps on giving.

Back to these lot again who’ve started a new campaign to finish the season with the hashtag #FansSayPlay . Some of them were even pinning making sure the season ends to benefit mental health. We are all struggling mentally and I agree not going to football games can mean you lose that sense of menta...

Good news?

There was maybe some good news yesterday for the first time in a while. We might actually be able to go to a football match next season. From May 17th, up to 4,000 fans will be able to attend a match. Not too sure if this still involves the current restrictions of wearing masks, one-way systems, etc...

Re: Season declared null and void

Time for player of the season..? Not even sure there was 1 stand-out player for me throughout the whole campaign? I mean last season it was Morgan easily. But I'm not sure this season. Woods has looked pretty sharp in the games I've seen same with Vassallo. Adam Anson has been relatively good also.

Re: Season declared null and void

Correct decision . Tough one for the club now though regarding season ticket holders and members . I dont expect any sort of refund but would expect rather large discounted prices next season I agree. Last year when the season ended early refunds were not given for season ticket holders. Also for t...

Re: Season declared null and void

Good stuff. Morally and financially the correct decision. Should have been stopped weeks ago though. Anyway look on the bright side atleast we don’t have 2022 printed on all our home shirts. If anyone sees an eBay sale of hundreds pint glasses with “2022” written on them let me know

Re: What can supporters do to help?

I was under the impression that this was a football forum (with an occasional pithy quip or joke), not a political one. Comments about how some clubs are irresponsible with money would be of value, ones about people having children when they cannot afford it is not.... But as you have mentioned it,...

And former Everton man Matty Pennington has donated. Good stuff. Noticed Chester did a similar thing a few weeks ago for Paddy Lacey.

Re: What can supporters do to help?

I think letters or emails to local sports journalists, MP, and directly at the invisible man Brian Barwick. I think the NL have been frankly appalling during this debacle! They have said virtually nothing and where is the leadership? Not sure Damien Moore moved off his behind unless it's to deny ch...

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

Jason Gilchrist started for York City last night in their first game at the New City Stadium, York 1 AFC Fylde 3, he was substituted just after half time... Noticed he only played 50 mins. Probs working him up to match fitness as it's a while since South Sheilds played (I mean to be fair it's a whi...

Re: National League up the anti

https://i.imgur.com/GsMC1rH.jpg The state of the replies on social media to the whole thing is madness. The obliviousness of some fellow fans has been unreal. Saw some Chester fans piping up claiming teams that don't play should forfeit the 3 points to them. Unfortunately for our Welsh friends who ...

All matches off

All of tonights National League North games have been postponed. All 9 of them. This is due to primarily the bad weather. A mixture of frozen pitches and heavy snowfall. Another match week off. How are we possibly going to cram these fixtures in. Financially and safety have been the big talking poin...

Think the implode started last night. Lost 2-1 at home to 10-man Alty.

Wow. Bloody hell. Was not expecting that.

Who is 2nd choice captain? Winnard? Hanford?

Just read this on Stanley’s site: Manager John Coleman said: "David is a good player, I've watched him numerous time at Southport and he's been comfortably their best player.

Again no surprise with the clubs involved who didn't sign this. Again big credit to Spennymoor for signing this also considering that they are 8 points off 2nd with 4 games in hand.

Re: Carry on football!

Had a debate with a Gateshead fan page on social media who believed their players were being tested. Aye if they are getting tested it's coming out of Gateshead's pocket and not the league. Madness to think the season should carry on. Nice to see the so-called "big" sides in our league suc...

Re: The season now what?

So what I believe is steps 3-6, which is the leagues below us, i.e the northern premier league which Warrington, Bamber Bridge, South Shields and FC United all play in will get a combined £10m in grants (not loans) to help keep clubs afloat. Meanwhile step 1&2 leagues (National league, National ...

Re: Carry on football!

Just a confirmation of clubs that did vote for option 3 of ending the season. All the others voted for the loan options, but clubs such as Gloucester insisted that it was a grant rather than a loan. (12 in total) AFC Telford - Andy Pryce Alfreton Town - Wayne Bradley Bradford Park Avenue - Martin K...
