Re: Liam Watson post match
Liam has hit the nail squarely on the head in my personal opinion. I am fed up to the back teeth of ‘zombie football’, risking people’s health and well-being, not to mention the financial consequences. I see Jim Parmenter (Dover Chairman) has resigned from the National League Board and is saying ver...

Re: Match Thread - Marine V Southport
First half, Marine came out the traps with energy and confidence, first to the ball, playing some neat football and prepared to shoot from everywhere. They hit the bar and Tony Mac pulled off a couple of regulation saves, and one excellent one from Kengni, who was a nuisance all evening. By contrast...

Who needs a PA system?Ralphy Rylance wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 11:05 pm What we need is Nolio on the PA system for 90 minutes belting out clear instructions to the players in loud schoolmasterly tones.
They would not dare disobey and victory would be assured.
Well done and thank you to everyone at SFC for getting us back in.

Re: FT: Southport 2-1 Morpeth Match Thread
I didn’t know about squad numbers. Odd, if they don’t have names on. Would be helpful if we knew what the numbers were. I hadn’t seen several of these players before. If you Google Southport players squad numbers you will find out who's who. I might be wrong but I think this may also be an anti-Cov...

Southport FC Women Friendly at PURE Stadium
Thank you to everyone at the Club who invited the Women to play a 'test' game today, to prepare for the readmission of fans which will hopefully be sooner rather than later. It was a great occasion for the players and staff, and the Women rose to the occasion with a fine performance. Thanks also to ...

Re: FT: Southport 9 - 2 Longridge Town
Yeah, Mo didn’t feature on Saturday although he was there. I suspect he may be talking about Charlie Oliver - although the centre back who impressed me most was Anson. At times he was like one of the Sheffield United centre halves, under-lapping the full backs to considerable effect.

Re: 20/21 Kappa shirts
Something with lots of X’s, in all probability!
You may find the following Kappa size guide useful, from ordering the kit for the team there is some variation from what you may be used to.

Re: FT: Southport 9 - 2 Longridge Town
Not 100% sure as I didn’t have a teamsheet - sorry! But some of them did look promising. I think it says it all that they didn’t look out of place with the regular players, it didn’t look at all disjointed. In contrast to other clubs in the division I would say we are aiming more at younger players ...

Re: FT: Southport 9 - 2 Longridge Town
Finished 9-2, lots of changes at half-time but some excellent football played. Goals for Sampson (pen), Triallist, Woods and Newell in the second half. Back to back trebles for George which is very promising. I know it’s only pre-season but the team looks fit, sharp and well-drilled. We look to be b...

FT: Southport 9 - 2 Longridge Town
Very lively first half so far! Scored within a few minutes, clearance blasted in Newell’s face and rebounded into the net, Longridge equalised with a good long range strike. Morgan scored a lovely half-volley from 25 yards before they equalised with a well-worked set piece. Two goals in a minute fro...

Re: Squad List
https://southportfc.net/2020-21-squad-pen-pics/ So far we have 15 players listed, including new signings Carver, Challoner, Ali and McMillan. Interesting to see Hanford still listed. At one of the 'Walkabout Wednesdays' and I think on one of the interviews, I think Ian mentioned that while our playe...

Ryan Astles
https://www.tnsfc.co.uk/2020/08/05/astles-puts-pen-to-paper-with-the-new-saints/ Good luck to him, been solid for the last few years. Not sure this is a great move as far as his career is concerned, more about him retaining full-time football. Still he’s been a solid performer over the last few year...
