Re: Blyth Spartans 0-3 Southport - Match Thread

Very sound away win, three goals and another clean sheet.
As K says above tougher tests ahead starting next week, but it's an encouraging start, particularly defensively.

Re: Southport 1-0 Chorley - Match Thread

Three points, another clean sheet, good, hard working performance. Thought Winnard had a top game, but so did all our defenders and Dan Hanford, two great stops second half. Congrats to Dylan on netting the winner, all quite encouraging really. Streaming excellent throughout, well done the media cre...

Note on the club site that Apple device users cannot access tomorrow's stream.
I've watched both home games fine on a Mac laptop, will I no longer be able to do so?

bit disappointing in the end, goalscoring is still not a strong point for us.

Re: Live Streams

I emailed Kettering, and Port fans will be able to buy a streaming ticket on the day, the link will be on their main website.
Have a credit/debit card at the ready and all should be well. Our digital turnstile' has a buy match ticket option, assume that Kettering's will have too.

Re: Southport V Hereford - Match Thread

Agree with all that we looked ok defensively, Oliver and Bainbridge are two good footballers no doubt, Mo Ali strong, full backs worked hard. Hanford's save up in the top corner first half was top class and his handling steady throughout. Midfield we need three surely, Vassallo improved us visibly w...

Re: FT: Southport 2-1 Morpeth Match Thread

Good win and welcome prize money after a poor first half, Morpeth looked the more organised side first 45, decent team. Two quality moves for our goals and a superb header from George for the winner, nice for Niall too, first of many we hope. On my old Mac laptop the stream was flawless bar loss of ...

Re: So. What happens next?

Daily Mail reports that National League/N/S is to get govt cash support, £20m. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8789075/Government-provide-cash-bailout-National-League-clubs.html As POTK said, wait til the money's in the bank, but this is possibly season on as opposed to season over.

Havant's Tory MP Alan Mak - a VP at Havant&Wville - has been pushing his club's - and our - case in Parliament.
If Moore lives in Chorley, he's got double the reason to pipe up.

am I right in thinking that currently Conf N/S clubs will have to play behind closed doors if at home, whereas the NPL sides and lower are OK to have limited fan numbers in if drawn at home?

this from the Guardian

'However the National League, which has warned that its season was under threat, was more bullish – saying that it hoped to announce a “critical financial support package very soon” which would enable it to start playing again on 3 October.'

Re: Update from James Tedford 24/09/20

if the blanket ban on crowds comes into force, it's difficult to see how the FA Cup can proceed (I note qualifiers have been played all this week). How can you have round three proper if the qualifiers and first and second rounds haven't taken place due to the enforced absence of clubs at our level?...

if grouse hunts are allowed, pubs are allowed and restaurants are allowed, it seems perverse to deny clubs at our level the opportunity to bring some sporting diversion to communities if they have proved that they are able to fully comply with Covid19 prevention guidelines and stage distanced events...
