Re: Darlington off

I suppose that the two sufferers will be out for a while. What makes you say that? Not everyone who has Covid is on a ventilator hanging on for life like the government would have you believe. When did the government say that everyone who has covid is on a ventilator, and who said it? Probably Geor...

Re: Darlington off

I don't think they will use PPG unless most of the season has been played.

Re: Darlington off

I don't think it'll get that far if we carry on having this number of games called off - null and void looks more likely. Presumably we can't relegate anyone if the division below doesn't complete, and they are months behind now. If clubs are starting to ask for the league to be suspended and games ...

Re: Carry on football!

Aren't we bang in the middle of the attendances etc so we'd get roughly the same either way? I can see why the likes of Chester and Hereford are annoyed, but then Chester always are about something.

I can't see any way this season's going to finish, sadly.

Re: Carry on football!

First objection - Allardyce wouldn’t have a hot dog concession as it’s ‘foreign muck’ (American by way of Germany) - he would however man a stall called Meat & Two Veg which passes the criteria of it being something he actually would do, it sells British food and is an unbelievably childish and...

Re: Carry on football!

Back on topic... can anyone else see a slight resemblance between Arsene Wenger and Kenneth Williams? Carry On Up The Arsenal would be a surefire hit, and a bit of healthy competition for that Spurs documentary - Bernard Bresslaw as Tony Adams, Jim Dale as Patrick Vieira, and possibly Barbara Windso...

We've still got trouble with long balls - it's important that we stiffen up the defence with a couple of larger members.

Re: Carry on football!

Very peculiar thread, this. Titled, 'carry on football', but it's just a moan at the government. Haha. I would watch Carry On Football. Roy Hodgson has a naturally put-upon kind of demeanour, I could definitely see him in a hospital trolley rolling down some stairs. You could also have Allardyce in...

Brilliant stuff Port, well-deserved win. Woods was excellent when he came on - a much better shape and a really committed performance. Hopefully a home draw to come!

Re: A view from the jack carr

I did think that the obvious improvement in the second half against Spennymoor would be the end of the Christmas Pudding, at least at home. That's the really worrying bit. As far as the young players are concerned, we seemed to make this mistake with Albinson last season and it dragged him under. Th...

Re: A view from the jack carr

I think we have been in worse situations under Liam and turned it around to an extent, but we don't seem to be going anywhere and we seem to fall into a tailspin at least twice a season. I can't accept that we should ever be aiming any lower than the playoffs in this division, but in the short term ...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport

The last few seasons have all been months on end of absolute toss either side of a really good run where we pick up enough points to keep our heads above water.

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport

This reminds me a bit of 2018/19 - hoping eventually things will.turn around as they did then when we went and pumped Kidderminster 4-1. That side had a lot of talent in it that wasn't being used very effectively to begin with - the Christmas Pudding makes it difficult to assess this squad properly...

Re: FT: Guiseley 4 - 2 Southport

I hope we don't get a load of excuses trotted out about a young team not managing the game. Bottom line is that we were outfought! True - the most depressing aspect of today (and there were many, many depressing aspects) was the number of challenges we wimped out of, and the number of times we were...

Re: Southport 0 - 1 Farsley

What we need is Nolio on the PA system for 90 minutes belting out clear instructions to the players in loud schoolmasterly tones. They would not dare disobey and victory would be assured. Well done and thank you to everyone at SFC for getting us back in. The man's a scumbag. WARHAM OUT. Great to be...
