Re: Southport 1-1 South Shields - Match Thread

Listening to the interview, you do wonder whether Liam’s heart is still in it or his he just doing the job because he has to?

Interesting to hear him refer to Andy Preece as a mate. Did a great job.

Re: What Is Southport Conservative MP Doing About This Issue ?

It’s looking more likely that a support package will be forthcoming from the government. Whether it will be enough, time will tell. Perhaps the title of the thread should be changed to what are TIY doing to help? Now is truly the time to Save Southport Football Club but there are no scarves in sight.

Re: Fa cup

The suggestion from the interview was that 11 need to be paid regardless of the season start date and perhaps are already being paid? Guess it’ll be the existing players who signed contract extensions which would have been August start dates. Whilst they could be re-furloughed that only applies unti...

Re: Update from James Tedford 24/09/20

Even if crowds are let back in, the tone of the interview is that the club couldn't survive on 450 fans coming through the door. What average attendance is being expected? I couldn't see more than 500 average regardless of what the maximum capacity was allowed to be. In that case, a financial suppor...

Re: Nelson 0 - 3 Southport

The manager shouldn't be on the board of directors and the manager's son shouldn't be in the playing squad. That would be in the ideal world but this is the tinpot world of non-league football.

Re: Nelson 0 - 3 Southport

You’d hope that the club have a friendly or two organised against National League opposition before the start of the season to provide a more stern test.

Re: News of Former Players - it's back!

Rather harsh to revel in somebody losing their job, poor form from our club secretary for posting a sarcastic tweet clearly directed at her. Remember, one of the board members who she was carrying out the will of is still at SFC and one former board member from that time still has a strong influence...

Re: 2020/21 Fixtures...

First reaction....what have the club done to upset the league such that we get Curzon. Clubs put in their first choice for Christmas fixtures and nobody in their right mind would ask for Curzon. However, it’s not as bad as it would normally be given potential revenue from a Chester/Chorley game woul...

Maybe he got buried in the concrete for the Fanzone? I bet he is really frustrated at not extending his 2000 year streak without missing a game.

Re: FT: Southport 4 - 3 Accrington Stanley

Great to see the last two games going so well. In the Ian Kyle interview Rob and Ian rue the lost income from these games noting that Blackpool may have bought 2,000. Accrington would also have brought a good following and Huddersfield would have also brought a large following. Shame we are missing...
