Re: Southport 0-1 York City - Match Thread

I thought there was something odd when I switched on and saw Rob talking before the game but I hadn’t entered my code.
Frustrating first half but looking forward to this. Response from James first class.

Re: Jordan Archer

Sad to say I barely remember him - had to look him up to remind me what he looked like. However it’s good we are strengthening the attacking options given the lack of goals from our strikers and Liam’s perhaps understandable reluctance to use his son and Newell too intensively at this stage of their...

Re: FT: Telford 1 - 1 Southport - Match Thread

Sandy Grounder As I’m currently editing a book on the threats to Free Speech it’s quite amusing to see I can’t even come on here without people wanting to cancel me. I’m sorry I’m too often quite negative but after sixty years of supporting -and I mean supporting - my team, disappointment is almost ...

Re: FT: Telford 1 - 1 Southport - Match Thread

We have two good players sitting on the bench who can score goals from open play. Instead we rely on getting a lucky bounce from endless long throws.

Re: FT: Telford 1 - 1 Southport - Match Thread

How are Gloucester up there? Have they suddenly got lots of money? Yet another team overtaking us. The story of the last 40 years as more and more go by.
Why do we just keep accepting that the best we can do is somewhere between 6th and 12th?

Re: Telford 1 - 1 Southport - Match Thread

I’m afraid that, as last week, we are shown not to be a team that can genuinely challenge at the top end. With a goal lead against ten men they just couldn’t put the screws on. Just kept playing in the same way and never really looked like scoring again from open play. And those endless long throws....

Re: Southport 0-1 Boston - Match Thread

What was so depressing was that the result was obvious from the moment their goal went in. We were unable to change anything, just repeatedly doing the same thing in the hope that we might get lucky somehow. We saw this time and again in the last two seasons.

Re: Southport 0-1 Boston - Match Thread

Hopeful long balls, inaccurate passing, poor first touch, terrible set pieces.
No change from last season or the season before that.
This is not a promotion-challenging team. Boston is.

Re: Port Chat meeting with SFC

This may be a sensitive question, but is Port Chat now seeking to replace Trust in Yellow as the fans’ representative? There is no link to TIY on the new Port Chat, and their site seems more or less moribund though I have seen a tweet or two from Kayley. I was vaguely aware of differences of opinion...

Re: How can Bristol City do this?

Sadly, I think this would happen at Haig Avenue. As many fans would be allocated slots on the Popular Side when they really wanted Jack Carr, the temptation to seek shelter during a rainstorm ( and we see several every season) would be difficult to resist.

Re: How can Bristol City do this?

But Southport wasn’t in Tier 3 when we (and Borehamwood) were told we couldn’t do this. Somewhere along the line the advice has changed.

Re: How can Bristol City do this?

That’s not the point, is it? Whatever particular individuals may have done to breach rules or guidance or whatever it was, they were individuals. Here we have two big clubs who were presumably told this was OK. We were not. When Tier 3 rules are removed, watching home (and away) games in the bar, pe...

How can Bristol City do this?

According to the Mail on Sunday, yesterday Bristol City fans were allowed to eat in the club’s restaurant and bars while watching their home game with Swansea on TV screens. And Millwall did the same for their game with Barnsley. I thought we were told we couldn’t do this?
