Re: How can Bristol City do this?

Sadly, I think this would happen at Haig Avenue. As many fans would be allocated slots on the Popular Side when they really wanted Jack Carr, the temptation to seek shelter during a rainstorm ( and we see several every season) would be difficult to resist.

Re: How can Bristol City do this?

But Southport wasn’t in Tier 3 when we (and Borehamwood) were told we couldn’t do this. Somewhere along the line the advice has changed.

Re: How can Bristol City do this?

That’s not the point, is it? Whatever particular individuals may have done to breach rules or guidance or whatever it was, they were individuals. Here we have two big clubs who were presumably told this was OK. We were not. When Tier 3 rules are removed, watching home (and away) games in the bar, pe...

How can Bristol City do this?

According to the Mail on Sunday, yesterday Bristol City fans were allowed to eat in the club’s restaurant and bars while watching their home game with Swansea on TV screens. And Millwall did the same for their game with Barnsley. I thought we were told we couldn’t do this?

Re: Blyth Spartans 0-3 Southport - Match Thread

Great result. The next four games will show whether we have the makings of a challenging team. I missed the stream yesterday. After a long week of staring at a screen, I didn’t fancy a Saturday afternoon doing the same, so attended Great Wakering v Histon in the Isthmian North. I had really missed a...

Re: National League Finding

That is more than I expected. Given how much bigger gates York get, they don’t get much more of this money than we do.

Re: Southport 1-0 Chorley - Match Thread

Good win in tight game. This is Southport, so always on edge, but we were solid in defence and played the ball nicely at times. Young players show promise, and Winnard his best for some time. Excellent coverage, liked the unforced chat between Nicola and Rob rather than pretending they were on Sky S...

I do. I bet the management does too, if only because it’s yet another loss of income. Perhaps glass-half-full optimists can make up the shortfall.
Three indifferent performances whichever way you view it.

So once again a transitional season, nowhere near a challenging team?

Are we any better than last season? Doesn’t look like it on the basis of the first three games.

This should be laid down by the FA, now.
We’ve only started the season less than two weeks ago and it’s already becoming an expensive farce.

Re: Go to the cinema!

Another total lockdown would be an economic disaster and I doubt it would get rid of the Covid problem, just kick it down the road to pop up again a few months later. You are retired, RF. Those who need to keep working to keep food on the table and a mortgaged roof over their head may take a differe...

Re: FT: Southport 2-1 Morpeth Match Thread

I thought this would be one of the dangers of starting the season. At Nonleague level we just can’t keep players in a cocoon. So games could potentially be postponed all over the place as individuals inevitably pick up the virus. Fingers crossed the season doesn’t descend into farce! BTW best of luc...
