Re: What Is Southport Conservative MP Doing About This Issue ?

It’s looking more likely that a support package will be forthcoming from the government. Whether it will be enough, time will tell. Perhaps the title of the thread should be changed to what are TIY doing to help? Now is truly the time to Save Southport Football Club but there are no scarves in sigh...

Just seen James interview, very well spoken in no uncertain terms in my opinion. York City to drop the city bit In their name and replace with Scabs.

Re: Fa cup

For me there is a catch 22 situation do we try to get tier6 classed as non elite, and make a short term gain on small attendances or do we stay as an elite and maybe get our hands on some direct financial Grant or whatever doled out to the EFL and conference. Like I’ve already said it’s shambolic an...

“Fans of National League clubs in FA Cup action this weekend will not be able to attend - even if they're playing away at Step 3-6 clubs where spectators are permitted (per guidelines). NL club v anyone - no fans at all Step 3-6 v NL club - no away fans permitted” This is doing the rounds on Twitte...

Re: So. What happens next?

Premier League meeting on Tuesday to decide strategy if season ends early, funding for EFL not on the Official agenda it seems - no light in the tunnel tonight . Everton under 23’s playing twice in 7 days at “home” so some little financial respite there, still hopeful though - why be otherwise

Re: So. What happens next?

I think reading through this forum, websites general and various form of media that the problem is the Government. I have made some other investigations and have found contact details for Oliver Dowden, who seems to be one of the main sticking points. He needs telling what is going on. You can look...

If that’s the case then presumably they’ve got scientific evidence that COVID is spread easier at non FA cup games  that would be incredulous

Re: Fa cup

am I right in thinking that currently Conf N/S clubs will have to play behind closed doors if at home, whereas the NPL sides and lower are OK to have limited fan numbers in if drawn at home? Yes you’re right, but the main issue is as I understand if we play then we effectively start the contracts f...

Re: So. What happens next?

National League have said they’re actively engaged With Govt. and FA to secure finance to sustain clubs, without live attendances. Reading into it my thinking is they are staying non committal on starting whether or not financial support is in place. They will have to get a move on as the cup draw i...

Re: So. What happens next?

But as Sean Dyche has said, in what other field would you expect successful businesses to bail out unsuccessful businesses? I can’t see the PL giving out huge amounts of cash all the way down the pyramid. And don’t count on the government either. Clubs will have to find ways out of this crazy situa...

.......Clubs need to minimise expenditure and do even more to increase non-traditional income sources. Wise words indeed... however, I think our club is doing its very best on both fronts already. What we certainly don’t need is to recruit another alleged sugar daddy who at the end of the day, impr...

Re: Nelson 0 - 3 Southport

The manager shouldn't be on the board of directors and the manager's son shouldn't be in the playing squad. That would be in the ideal world but this is the tinpot world of non-league football. We’ve played a variety of teams including high flying Accrington and a strong Everton under 23’s and play...
