Re: Southport v Torquay FA Trophy

If you take the righteous high ground and refuse to play league matches on health and safety grounds, you undermine yourself by playing cup matches. The club has not refused to play league games - so far as we know from information in the public domain. Exactly, and while we say we don't want to pl...

Re: Southport v Torquay FA Trophy

Valid anytime but especially now with people on furlough or losing work they may not have a spare tenner for a frivolous live stream when they had planned for a membership etc to cover it. Don't be harsh on people if they feel put out as you may not know their situation.

Re: David Morgan

Not with that attitude. If they do flog Dion for a million quid we should demand 100% instead of the paltry 20% they will probably try and FOB US OFF with. The latest lot are benchers. Coleman could have offered someone half relevent from his "large squad" but has it easy and is too savvy...

Re: Carry on football!

Participation tomorrow seriously undermines a fundamental part of our rational for ending the season. I get it's a difficult position the club finds themselves in but we had taken the morale high ground in terms of right from wrong. It's simply wrong to play. We therefore should have refused to pla...

Re: Carry on football!

The risk is extremely low anyway. Torquay and the surrounding area has very low rates of the disease. As a resident of said area, you don't have to go far to find 10 people vehemently opposed to excessive travel to high risk areas. The risk from Torquay is low but for that reason the risk TO Torqua...

Covering bases. They would be swiftly recalled if it was and we moth-balled till July.

Re: Carry on football!

However if a block of clubs took on the league on a protecting the community standpoint; they'd win. From a PR perspective expelling 10 plus clubs at this time would destroy the National League. 10 clubs from the leagues below would jump at the chance to move up. Probably. But the legal battle betw...

Re: David Morgan

Let's be honest we could have youngsters who look to progress or a bunch of tired old hacks collecting their final paychecks. When we sell a Dion or Morgs we say to a youngster that we are your route to a career if you graft for us. So long as we get the balance right it is our best way at progressi...

Didn't stop us in 09/10 or 11/12. It is about having the right players not necessarily the most expensive ones....

friendship is a beautiful thing.
I know you dislike Liam, but one thing is certain he has always done right by the club finances and the players when their chances come.

All this boils down to the fact the National League left a meeting with a promise and nothing else. Even Chamberlain got something on paper.

Re: Carry on football!

A hope I guess that infections drop, the Government starts to lean towards tiers from March and so a crowds carrot to dangle. They did that last time. Only a few lucky areas got to go to games for a few weeks. We were incredibly lucky to be able to go to three games. Mostly all teams across the cou...

Re: Carry on football!

Can't help but think back to James T's interview just before the FA Cup when the rug was pulled from under us with respect to fans in the ground. Lots of assurances were made but if the choices then had been the choices today we wouldn't have been playing.
