There commentator summed it up
Liam Watson, a thousand games in charge, all in the same style. Prepare for stiff necks

Good clear picture.
Commentary is good but a second or two behind the picture.

Nice finish. Don't think he was off tbh. Ball was in the air for a while

Hopefully Carver will eventually put one his chances away! Would Archer have scored them?
Re: Matchday Thread: Guiseley v Southport
Watched the replay. Newell was in line with both centre halves. Not offside.
Creating plenty, mainly through Connor Woods. Wing backs getting caught out defensively.

Excellent coverage.
Game of crosses so far, both teams look dangerous with balls into the box. Pleasing to see us carry more of a threat, Woods on set pieces helps as he has a wicked delivery. Morgan and Benjamin have won more battles than they've lost, good to see them not being dominated for once.
We look vulnerable at the other end, the goal was disappointing as the defender (I think it was Bainbridge but will stand corrected) was outmuscled. They have done their homework and are playing with extra width, numerous occasions they have got beyond our wing backs. This has led to the centre backs having to make awkward decisions about whether to commit or stay in shape, it has put Oliver on a yellow and it does look a weakness.
Anyone's game second half.

Started well but we appeared to fade as the half went on. Guiseley looking dangerous with powerful runs and on occasion breaking right through the midfield. When we have passed it through the midfield we have looked quite capable, Newell has dropped deep to cover the overlap but by doing so there is little outlet when we try to counter.
Andrai Jones has looked very effective protecting their back four and creating a lot of attacking play.

Not for the first time this season, I think we will rue some of our wasted chances. We've had a couple where we haven't forced a save, whereas Hanford has made a couple of very good ones.

I hope Gary Jones got an absolute bollocking for getting out of the way of Dickinson's freekick.

Excellent coverage.
We have looked good when we have passed and moved the ball forwards quickly and should have scored more. Morgan is so much better up the pitch. I’m convinced Carver needs a rest. He works hard but never looks like scoring and missed a golden chance there. Top scorer on the bench??
Now 2-1 down because we’ve gone too deep and starting to do the same thing over and over and they have sussed it

Poor defending from Morgan led to the goal. Should have cleared tge ball away easily.

Morgan gave the ball away of the edge of the box, inevitable, too much going through the motions for me, 2nd from bottom dominating us....
Re: Matchday Thread: Guiseley v Southport
Carver looks for all the world like an inferior version of Jack Sampson. Works really hard and wins a few headers but presents zero goal threat
Re: Matchday Thread: Guiseley v Southport
Agree about Carver. Lots of effort but not much impact!

Tactics again, long ball after long ball Hanford the main culprit as usual, do they train & work on any type of Plan B?

It pains me to see a club same size as us in Altrincham 3rd in National league and we are dreadful in the NLN losing to second bottom team. Football is so depressing

At least people watching us through 60’s and 70’s had something to be joyous about but being born in the 1980’s its been 30 plus years of hurt following port
