Latest issue has a Brackley match report and a preview of today's game.

A quick look at our average attendance shows we are having difficulties getting people through the door:

04/05 - 1st Con North (Promoted) - 1021
05/06 - 18th Con - 1218
06/07 - 23rd Con (Relegated) - 1168
07/08 - 4th Con North (lost playoff) - 1019
08/09 - 5th Con North (lost playoff) - 863
09/10 - 1st Con North (Promoted) - 852
10/11 - 21st Con - 1154
11/12 - 7th Con - 1319
12/13 - 20th Con - 968
13/14 - 18th Con - 1036
14/15 - 19th Con - 1107
15/16 - 16th Con - 1133
16/17 - 23rd Con (Relegated) - 1146
17/18 - 15th Con North - 958
18/19 - 14th Con North - 1067
19/20 - 12th Con North (unweighted ppg) - 978
20/21 - Conf North (void) - 583
21/22 - Conf North - 840

(Based on average home attendances subtracting non first class games and anomalous results like Tranmere FAC)
The thing that strikes me about this is that this year could be 10 straight years without finishing in the top half of any League.

That might have something to do with the attendance drop.

Worth noting that 18/19 we had the likes of Stockport, Chorley and FCUM in our league bringing decent numbers with them. None of which were there the following year.

Would be interesting to see the figures excluding away fans.

You see or hear nothing of what's going on or if there's even a game unless you actively consume SFC information. A passive supporter probably has no idea when a game is taking place.
Sure many factors are the reason for the drop in attendance that in turn reduce the already really small budget. However something that needs to be looked at in respect to the above comment is local coverage with mid-week newspapers (champion etc.) that get posted through everyones doors in Southport/Formby and surrounding areas, non or little coverage on SFC in recent times - The back page is usually an advert for Chapelhouse.

The local papers do not usually send reporters to games anymore as they have an even tighter budget than SFC. However match reports and pictures can get sent with credit which they will publish.

There's only the Champion now.
I haven't had one of those delivered for years though I sometimes have a scan through it at my mothers.
Mike Hunt formerly of this parish does the reports for it.
