VJ Day 2020

To commemorate the end of WW2 , 75 years ago. Sefton Libraries have been working on a project to remember those who lost their lives during the conflict. Library staff are preparing Last Post letters, which will be posted out on VJ75 day, to the last known addresses of almost 700 local service personnel and civilians who lost their lives during the conflict.
We hope that the recipients will treasure the packs they receive informing them that a hero once lived at their address, and will pass on the details to future generations.
Therefore to the current owner/occupiers of
18 Devonshire Road, Southport (William Rigby),
58 Heysham Road, Southport(William Sinclair),
133 Heysham Road, Southport (John Henry "Jack" Warring) and
126 Upper Aughton Road, Southport (Reginald Turnell), and
1 Sefton Street, Litherland (Edward Lightfoot),

please treasure and keep this letter as it relates to a former Southport FC player whose last known address is where you now call home.
They longed to return to it but gave their lives so that one day you could instead.
